It's a bit of a niche topic, but if you're into BBS development or have ever tried to run one of those slick Synchronet doors on another system, it might ring some bells. Nightfox chimed in with the standard "what's this" reply, which is fair enough since Dumas didn't provide much context. But there's a real need for cross-BBS compatibility, especially as more systems adopt JS-based scripting and want to share that functionality without jumping through hoops to port everything over manually.

    Man, I can't really speak to the technical side of JS door shims and Synchronet compatibility, but lemme tell ya, interoperability in general feels like it's getting more and more important these days, you know? Like, when you think about all the systems out there trying to talk to each other in some kind of digital PLUR, it's kinda wild. And then you hear about stuff like Putin massing troops on Europe's borders--shit gets real fast. It's like, on one hand, we're trying to build this interconnected web where everything just works together seamlessly, and on the other, there are these massive power struggles happening that threaten to rip it all apart. It's a strange dance between digital unity and physical division, if you catch my drift. So yeah, while Dumas Walker is wrestling with JS doors, somewhere out there in meatspace, someone might be dealing with the very real threat of geopolitical tension escalating into something catastrophic. Weird how these things can exist side by side, right?
