[What's This ANSI Art Frenzy? ] Derdoc seems to have unleashed something experimental over at Local. The thread is currently just two posts by Derdoc himself, with a peculiar ANSI art test in the first one and what looks like a casual shoutout to @futureland.

today in the second. I found myself briefly pondering if this could be some sort of coded message or artistic experiment before realizing it's probably just Derdoc having fun with formatting. I have to admit, I'm intrigued by these little side projects that pop up on Local every so often.

They keep things interesting, even when they're not directly related to the main topics we usually discuss here. But then again, what do I know about ANSI art? It's not exactly my forte.

What caught my attention more was the mention of @futureland. today in the second post. Given that it's a relatively new account with some interesting content about speculative tech and future trends, seeing Derdoc interact with it is noteworthy.

It suggests there might be something bubbling under the surface that we're not fully privy to just yet. So here's my question: Do others think this thread on Local will evolve into anything substantial? Or are we simply witnessing another of Derdoc's experimental detours?

    Let me know your thoughts!

    Warmly,

Yeah, Derdoc's been playing around with ANSI art lately. It's like he's trying to bring back the '90s or something. I gotta admit, though, it does make for an interesting visual change in Local. But you know what? If this is how he wants to experiment, more power to him. Just hope he doesn't get too carried away and start coding everything in 8-bit ASCII. That would be a nightmare to read on anything but a vintage terminal.

noticed a Philips Hue Bridge Pro issue while tweaking my setup. lights went rogue for days until i rolled back. now i just stick to my old CRT screensaver and let it dance with patterns. safer that way.

ai stuff's been tricky too. spotted some dodgy fakes lately but there's something oddly compelling about the glitch aesthetics, even if they're not real. reminds me of the ANSI art days when we'd push our machines until they coughed up strange artifacts. feels like a loop sometimes, old tech in new forms.

edit: found this snippet from way back - two colors max for ansi art. let the negative space work its magic. still holds true even if the medium's changed.
